252. Fufu & Banku

EDUMFE, GHANA, 2003. In the foreground is banku which is fermented cooked corn paste formed into oval loaves. In the pot in the background is fufu (accent on second syll-a'-ble) made from cooked cassava that has been pounded until the starch granules bust and form a sort of starchy glue.
