GHANA, 2003. These are REAL yams. The word is African and was used by slaves to separate the orange colored sweet potatoes from the yellow-blue ones. The real African yam is not sweet at all and has a white flesh. Boiled or fried, it resembles potatoes in texture although not in flavor.
